You have built capability and experience.

You've worked hard to establish credibility.

You may be considering a critical decision, taking on greater responsibility, navigating a challenging period, or positioning for an expanded role.

Something no longer feels as straightforward as it once did.

You're not seeing the success you expect.

You second-guess how your contributions are landing, the impact you're having and how your position is being interpreted.

Or perhaps it's that you feel stuck or unclear about the best next step for you.

This is an inflection point. Left unaddressed, it rarely resolves itself.

Resolving it is the work we do together. This isn't generic or off the shelf answers you can get from anywhere.

It is developed solution that uncover the real issues, tradeoffs and tailored to your context, background and realities. .

When People Typically Seek Support

You may recognise yourself in one or more of these situations:

You are exploring your next step and want greater clarity about the direction to take.

Confidence, communication, influence, or stakeholder relationships are becoming more important to your success than technical capability alone.

You are working hard, are well regarded but hitting a wall when it comes to getting promoted.

Promotion or expanded remit now requires you to operate differently

Your thinking is strong, but your ideas are not consistently translating into decisions, alignment, or action.

The role feels heavier than you expected,  despite your capability and experience.

Your decisions have wider consequences, and you are navigating greater visibility and scrutiny.

Understanding what may be driving the challenge

The visible challenge is not always the whole challenge.

What appears to be a confidence, communication, career or stakeholder challenge may also involve how you see yourself, interpret the situation and respond to it.

The organisational structure and culture matter too. What worked before may no longer be sufficient for what your role or situation now requires. Working harder alone may not resolve it.

For some African diaspora leaders, these demands are compounded by how their background, communication or authority is interpreted. Feedback about your style may need careful examination, alongside the expectations and dynamics of the environment in which you work.

Our work considers both your approach and your organisational context, helping you identify what needs to change and how to move forward.

This is where approach and leadership must recalibrate.

Authority. Judgement. Execution.

Different challenges. Three connected pillars.

Authority

Judgement

Execution

Authority – How you see yourself, exercise your authority and establish credibility with others.

Judgement – How you assess situations, make decisions and communicate your reasoning.

Execution – How you turn decisions into action, build alignment and deliver results.

Through my work with African diaspora senior professionals and executives, I have found that challenges involving clarity, confidence, communication, influence or stakeholder management often connect to these areas.

Our work together creates space to examine and recalibrate the patterns shaping your leadership, so you can act more effectively towards the outcomes you want.

The work is tailored to your situation, responsibilities and ambitions.

 Engagements

Support that reflects what your role and situation now require

The right engagement depends on the responsibilities you hold, the challenges you are navigating and what you want to achieve. Together, we identify the most appropriate starting point.

Most people recognise themselves in one of the engagement pathways below.

Elevate You Programme™

When expectations extend beyond delivery and how you show up becomes increasingly important.

For experienced professionals and leaders seeking to strengthen the foundations of effective leadership, from confidence and communication to relationships, decisions and career direction

This engagement is often relevant when:

  • You are exploring your next step and need greater clarity on direction and decisions.

  • You want to communicate more effectively, build stronger relationships or handle conflict with greater confidence.

  • You are taking on responsibilities that require more than technical expertise.

The focus is on strengthening the core leadership capacities that support your effectiveness and career progression.

Elevate Your Leadership™

When capability is established, but your approach needs to evolve.

For leaders seeking to strengthen their authority, influence, decision-making and execution as complexity and expectations increase.

This engagement is often relevant when:

  • Your thinking is strong, but it is not consistently shaping decisions or outcomes.

  • Your Influence varies across stakeholders and securing alignment takes more effort than it should

  • A promotion or expanded remit requires you to adapt established leadership habits

  • Leadership feels heavier despite experience, capability, and credibility.

The focus is on recalibrating your leadership approach and behaviours so that desired outcomes can be realised.

APEX Executive Leadership Architecture™

For new executives and established leaders seeking an ongoing strategic thinking partner.

For senior leaders operating at enterprise level or across complex organisations, where decisions affect multiple teams, functions and stakeholders.

Stepping into an executive role brings different demands on your thinking, judgement and leadership. You need to consider the wider business, navigate competing priorities and make decisions with broader consequences.

APEX combines executive coaching and strategic support, providing space to think through the situations you encounter, examine your assumptions and determine how to move forward.

  • You have recently stepped into an executive role and want to establish yourself effectively.

  • You need to broaden your thinking beyond your function to the wider organisation.

  • You want a trusted thinking partner to work through complex decisions, stakeholder dynamics and leadership challenges.

Our work strengthens your authority, judgement and execution in the context of your role and the outcomes you want to achieve.

Critical Career Moments™

Focused support when an important moment calls for careful preparation.

Interviews. Promotion Panels. Presentations. Career-Defining Conversations.

In these moments, your capability matters alongside how you communicate it. How you explain your judgement, demonstrate your contribution and respond under scrutiny can shape the outcome.

This is a focused, scenario-based engagement to help you prepare your thinking, communication and approach for a specific event.

Evidence of Impact

These are outcomes from professionals and leaders who recognised the need for change and acted on it.

"The biggest gain has been a deeper level of self-awareness, combined with a stronger focus on decision execution. I’m clearer, more grounded, and more deliberate in how I move forward.

— Titi A, VP, Financial Services, USA

“I have seen tangible, palpable positive changes in my confidence, mindset, influence, recognition, and visibility at work”

— Syreata S, Head of PMO, Telecommunciations, UK

I have been able to quickly settle into the new role, overcome ‘impostor syndrome’ feeling, and engage more confidently with my team and senior leaders in the organisation.

— Christine S, Divisional Controller, FS, Ireland

“Clarity, direction, greater leadership responsibility, a high self-efficacy and an increased compensation package; these are the results that Buki's executive coaching has helped me achieve in less than a year!”

— Chin U, Snr Legal Counsel, Asset Management, UK

These results are not driven by more effort.

They come from thinking more clearly, deciding more confidently, and leading more effectively.

For Organisations

Strengthening leaders as responsibility and expectations increase

When leaders step into expanded roles, the demands on their judgement, influence and execution change. Targeted coaching can support that transition and help them contribute more effectively.

I partner with organisations to support African diaspora senior professionals and executives who are:

  • Stepping into a new role or taking on a broader remit

  • Strengthening stakeholder influence, decision-making or people leadership

  • Navigating greater complexity, visibility or scrutiny

  • Preparing for further leadership responsibilty or working on particular development areas

Engagements can be initiated by the individual or by HR, Talent Development or a senior sponsor. For employer-sponsored work, we agree development objectives, sponsor involvement and review arrangements, while establishing clear confidentiality boundaries for the coaching.

The work connects the individual’s development with the leadership contribution their organisation needs.
